proposed Water sewage plant
Please can someone explain things to me? The Water Minister Datuk Peter Chin Fah Kui is stated as having indicated that since the Methanao plant requires 10 million litres of cooling water per day. (To produce natural gas to cope with the increasing demand from other countries??? I was under the impression that the natural gas came from offshore wells and the methanol plant produced methanol??) a water sewage plant will be built in Labuan to help service this need. Now that sounds a good idea, reuse, reduce ,recycle, etc

But, as far as I can see, pretty well all of the houses use cess pit sewage and other non biological hazzardous waste water ends up in the drain out side and is gravatity fed to the main semi open conduits and eventually finds its way, via a tidal lock gate system into the sea at eaither marina or market area.

Since, as far as I know, Labuan has no main sewage system, or sewage processing plant, where is all the water going to come from to be processed so as to be used by the methanol plant?

Is this a case of the Minister being misquoted, or lack of the reporter to get a story straight? Or was something lost in the translation? It's all very odd. Waste water from a non existing source and a methanol plant producing natural gas.
