Glad you took my observations as mutual. Actually I suppose that from a purely logical point of view and discarding any emotive reaction, marriage could be regarded as legalising prostitution with one partner at a time. Personally I am convinced that anything that floats, flies or has sex with you (think about that) is cheaper to rent as required, rather than purchase outright and have an under utilised facility hanging around costing money........
By the bye I am in Jakarta now.... Top Gun anyone? |

Totally agree with you again, Kent, whatever flies, floats or FFFFFF's is better rented. you see how they depreciate if not looked after. (Just look at my boat) or should I say "Labuans biggest flower pot"
Anyway I thought GRO meant "generously received offer" or maybe they are not getting my offers anymore Ha Ha Ha. Keep the goodies coming and take care in block "M" oh darn it..... I'm not supposed to know where that is. |

Can you recall the name of the great pub just behind the Aussie embassy in Jalan Thamlin? It was up stairs and there was always great live music. I wonder also is the Green Pub still going.. Jeff |

Not sure that it still in operation. Prices have been hiked and being Indonesia they never have the brians not to kill the golden goose. Hence it's no longer an attractive place to live. They did a Govt price hike on all imported booze and naturally a tin of Ayam baked beansed beans jumped on the band wagon. Now the Govt states that they will remove the luxury tax on alcohol but hike the normal tax by 200%. There is now according to the Jakarta Post 11000Rp tax on a bottle of local beer that sells at 19000Rp. So their main tourist spot Bali will suffer and the Govt go about wringingheir hands and complaining that they can't understand why..... My goldfish has a higher IQ. Tourists know what they want along with people that are willing to live in the country and bring in their cash. At least Suharto got that right, but since 1998 the country in many ways has just fallen by the wayside. So stand bye for more a reduced income from the booze trade and a comensurate increase in smuggling activities.... Some people seem incapable of learning simple lessons. Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam will be the winners. All countries that have a different brain set. :|
